Quick two point sketch practicing drawing doors on buildings. One two and Three point perspective practice from class.
ON day one i completed my basic sketches, of my objects and began shading. Day twoON day two i moved on to completing more shading in the background and the foreground to give the objects a 3D effect. Day 4Here is m final project! Unfortunately after i sprayed it with fixative the ends of the paper curled up and cause the bottle and horse shoe in my drawing to look warped but no one is perfect. On the picture above this one i applied a bluish filter from my phone that i think helps your eyes catch the value a little bit more. The longest part of this whole project was shading all of the different objects and making them look realistic. I really think that this composition is realistic and unique because the skull of the horse is jutting out towards the viewer instead of a normal flat looking drawing of it. All the way to the right i added some interesting looking leaves to help fill up the space and make this look like an exciting still life. I like how the objects in this drawing have virtually nothing to do with each other but blend and make each other pop in a space so well.
This is my still life homework, for this i began with my turtle statue and in order to make the composition more interesting i bit a strawberry and added it to the picture to make it look like the turtle was eating it. behind that i have my pikachu piggy bank with a ribbon draped over his ear. I like how this still life is very random and your eyes can travel all over the paper because of the range of values throught it
This activity was also done on newsprint and with pen. This activity was difficult because the metal on the instruments has many highlights and low lights that were hard to create without coloring anything in. A swell as the wrinkles on the fabric but overall i think that the piece came out well considering the limitations. This activity also taught me use my entire arm when im drawing to create fluid lines.
For this activity we were given a very dark colored paper and a white charcoal pencil in preparation in drawing the cloth. I found this activity to be difficult because for the darker values you could not add them you had to create around them with lighter values. This also made it difficult to give the ribbon body. But on the bright side we did learn how to properly blend white charcoal to create a differnt scale of values.
