This is my final piece for our observational unit. this drawing is half still life and half scientific drawing. The skull side is the scientific drawing example, i learned about how to fill in white space, use dark value, and how to shade and object that is not directly in front of me. For the living side of the horse head i grew by learning how to draw realistic hair and shade an animal that is not right in front of me, i also learned how to use darker value to help your eye travel around the picture. |

Here is the second activity that we did in class, we were told to bring in an object, observe it, and then draw it. In order to art this piece i had to choose an interesting perspective to do this ring from, i chose this because it helps you tell that the ring is supposed to be a bunny. I grew during this piece because i learned how to shade the background and give this piece a ground line. I also learned how to observe how light hits a shiny object. Ive also never drawn the grain on a wooden table before so that was interesting as well.
This was the first activity we did in art class, we were told to pick an object from around the room and draw it. In this composition i learned how to use an irregular line and shading to made the ribbon look more realistic. This piece was observational i set the ribbon and the scissors up myself and drew it as i saw it. When i was done with this piece i had grown as an artist because i learned techniques such as shading, line and perspective.
